(KNSI) – A Sherburne County Deputy recognized a wanted man on the way to work and found a half-pound of methamphetamine.

The sheriff’s office says the sergeant was on the way to the station on Friday when he stopped at a gas station in Becker. While at the gas station, the investigator saw 51-year-old Shane Earl Priem of Elk River and knew there was an arrest warrant for him on two counts of first-degree possession of drugs.

The plain-clothes sergeant spotted Priem walking out of the store and arrested him. According to investigators, while searching Priem’s vehicle, police found packages of meth, paraphernalia, Ziploc bags, and a digital scale. Deputies say they seized 8.6 ounces of meth.
