City Asking For People to Fill Out the Online Community Survey

(KNSI) – Waite Park is asking the community to fill out a survey on what they want the city to be like in the next decade and beyond. According to a press release, Waite Park is developing a new community-supported vision for the city’s future and strategic goals, plans, policies, and action steps to guide community growth and deliver essential community services.

Waite Park says they want to hear from residents, business owners, property owners, employees, and visitors on the survey. The survey asks about economic growth and development, parks and trails, transportation, housing, your perception of Waite Park, and about you.

Waite Park officials say the first step will be bringing people together to create an overall vision and support goals for the future. Waite Park plans to follow up with more details at a later date.

According to a release, the new Comprehensive Plan will use community input, demographic data, market research, and community planning best practices to look for critical needs, goals, policies, and steps for guiding future growth, redevelopment, and enhancements from the community-supported vision.

The planning is being paid for with funds given to Waite Park from the American Resue Plan Act of 2021. The online survey is among the first steps in the community planning process. Waite Park hopes to have the process completed in November of 2022.
