(KNSI) – Criminal charges have been filed against two students accused of a shooting that left a student dead at a Twin Cities School.

Prosecutors charged 19-year-old Alfredo Rosario Solis and 18-year-old Fernando Valdez-Alvarez with three counts of second-degree murder each on Friday.

The Minneapolis men have been in jail since Tuesday night, hours after the shooting at South Education Center in Richfield.

Investigators say there was an argument in the parking lot that led to Solis getting punched. Soon after, Valdez-Alvarez allegedly started shooting at all three victims. Police say the two men continued shooting while they fled.

A witness stated he saw students getting ready to fight when one of them pulled out a gun and started firing. The student killed was Jahmari Rice. The other two victims haven’t been identified.
