(KNSI) – A Sartell man was arrested at a burned-down cabin in Cass County. On Monday, the sheriff’s office says they were called to a cabin fire on Lake Washburn in rural Outing.
Firefighters arrived and found a cabin engulfed in flames, as well as a full-size pickup on fire near the shoreline. The cabin and pickup are a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters and deputies found a garage with living space burglarized. A 36-year-old man from Sartell was inside the garage and arrested. Formal charges are pending.
Investigators say the man has no connection to the property and spent time on the lake. Deputies also located other properties that the Sartell man may have broken into.
