(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is pleased to announce another phase of the No Child Left Inside grant program.
Public entities and nonprofit organizations that help children under 18 stay active or learn about nature can apply for the grants. The grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 and can be used for outdoor recreation equipment, transportation, and related natural resource education expenses.
Jeff Ledermann, DNR education and skills team supervisor, says the selection process will give preference to projects that propose new and innovative ways to impact children with limited outdoor opportunities. The DNR has $250,000 available for grants, with $100,000 earmarked for fishing and hunting-focused programs.
In past phases, the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District received a grant for an augmented reality sand table, Kinship of Morrison County received a grant for continuing programming, and Milaca Public Schools started maple syrup production.
The DNR will host an informational webinar Thursday, February 17th at 3:30 p.m. to review grant requirements, the application process, and answer questions. Attendees must pre-register here. The webinar will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.
Applications are due by 2:00 p.m. March 10th.
