(KNSI) – The Initiative Foundation has announced more than 300 grants with a value of $2.6 million was awarded in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Based in Little Falls, The Initiative Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life and to build stronger communities in Central Minnesota by offering business loans, nonprofit grants, leadership training, and donor services in their 14-county service area.
Several area schools were supported by grants, including robotics in Royalton schools, Xylophones in Sauk Rapids-Rice schools, and construction classes in Elk River and Zimmerman schools.
Area community initiatives received grant support as well, including an employee benefits and engagement survey through the Brainerd Lakes Area Economic Development Corporation, programming through the Delano Area Council for Arts and Culture, and employment and career readiness training at Goodwill Industries in St. Cloud.
In addition, The Initiative Foundation hosts several partner funds for families, businesses, nonprofits, and volunteer-led groups. Receiving grants from the partner fund include the East Central Regional Development Commission for a Lake Mille Lacs Bird Trail and the Delano Community Band.
