(KNSI) — One person is dead after a house fire Monday morning in St. Cloud.

A 911 call came in at 4:25 a.m. for the fire on the 100 block of 17th Avenue South. The St. Cloud Police Department and St. Cloud Fire Department arrived and found smoke in the house. They went inside and carried out one person who was in a wheelchair. Another person also made it outside the home. However, officers were told there was one more person still possibly inside the house on the second floor.

Due to the heavy smoke, officers could not make it to the second floor.

Firefighters immediately entered the home and did a primary search and fire suppression operation. According to a press release from the St. Cloud Police Department, during that search, firefighters found “a deceased adult on the second floor.” The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will work to identify the victim.

No one else was hurt.

The Red Cross is helping those that live in the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
