(KNSI) — The Bernick Family Foundation announced Friday that it had awarded $150,000 in grants to organizations and projects that support youth, education and health and wellness programs within central Minnesota.
Among the latest round of grants, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota received $10,000 for their Sports Buddies program. The Dassel-Cokato School District was awarded $40,000 for their Community Recreation Center. Waite Park Babe Ruth, Inc. was given $27,230 for their Babe Ruth Complex improvements of the scoreboard and batting cages. PACT for Families Collaborative in Willmar received $5,000 for their Promoting Family Health and Wellness for Soccer Events, Scholarships and Cinco de Mayo programs.
Other programs in Nisswa, Bemidji, Fairview Township, Spooner, and Fargo were also awarded funding.

The Bernick Family Foundation established its first fund with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation in 1989. The Bernick’s company and the Bernick family use their funds to support organizations that reflect their core values while providing leadership in responding to emerging community needs.
