(KNSI) – The governor has reappointed a St. Cloud woman to serve on Minnesota’s Metropolitan Airport Commission.
Patti Gartland was reappointed to another four-year term on Friday. She is the president of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation (GSDC) and was first appointed to the Metropolitan Airports Commission by Governor Mark Dayton in March 2014 and reappointed by him in January 2018.
“I appreciate Gov. Walz reappointing me to serve on the Metropolitan Airports Commission for a third term,” said Gartland. “It’s an honor to share perspectives of the Greater St. Cloud region with commissioners regarding air transportation in Minnesota.”
In 2017, Gartland was elected by her commission peers as vice-chair of the MAC, a position she still holds.
According to the governor’s office, Gartland and the GSDC have enhanced air service at St. Cloud Regional Airport and were instrumental in bringing the recently announced St. Cloud Regional Airport Authority to fruition.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) promotes air transportation locally, nationally, and internationally by developing the Twin Cities as an aviation center. The MAC owns and operates the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and six reliever airports in Lakeville, Blaine, Crystal, Eden Prairie, and in St. Paul.
