(KNSI) – A man staying at a group home in St. Cloud is accused of trying to burn the building down. Police were called to the home in the 300-block of 15th Avenue North in St. Cloud around 11 p.m. on Friday for a fire.
When police entered the home, they found the living room was filled with smoke. Officers reported a fire extinguisher was discharged upstairs and that there was fire damage in the kitchen on the stove.
Investigators spoke with 27-year-old Dylan Dean Peterson, who admitted lighting a fire on a stove in an attempt to burn the place down. According to the criminal complaint, Peterson attempted to burn down the residence due to his depression.
Peterson admitted other people were in the group home and would have been burned.
