(KNSI) — Three men were arrested in St. Cloud Friday morning on outstanding warrants for allegedly selling and possessing drugs.
According to a press release from the St. Cloud Police Department, just after 6:00, members of the St. Cloud Police’s Community Response Team, the Violent Offender Task Force, and St. Cloud SWAT conducted search warrants at two apartments in the 1000 block of 5th Avenue South as part of an ongoing investigation into sales and distribution of narcotics. The press release says those narcotics included fentanyl.
Police say 21-year-old Travis Malik Galtney of St. Paul was arrested for a warrant for two counts of third-degree drug sales. Twenty-five-year-old Arthur Devon Foote of St. Cloud was also arrested for a felony theft warrant out of Scott County. A search of court records shows other outstanding theft warrants for Foote from Dakota County and Hennepin County. There are also pending charges against another male suspect for fifth-degree drug possession and felon in possession of ammunition.
The press release says a .9 mm handgun and cash related to drug sales was also seized.
Fentanyl is estimated to be 80 times as potent as morphine and hundreds of times more potent than heroin. Exposure to fentanyl can and may be fatal. It depresses the central nervous system and respiratory functions.
No suspects or officers were injured during the arrests.
