(KNSI) – Little Falls, Minnesota-based Initiative Foundation has picked up a $2 million dollar grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation.

According to their website, The Initiative Foundation works to strengthen the economy and communities of Central Minnesota by providing direct grants and programs, loans and financing, and donor services to underserved businesses and nonprofits experiencing challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eighteen organizations received grants from The Otto Bremer Foundation ranging between $100,000 and $2 million. The new grants are being made to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to allow them to provide capital to entrepreneurs and small businesses that continue to struggle due to the economic calamity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
