(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Craft Beer Tour will benefit the Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. (Help and Encouragement on Rough Oceans) Foundation, a local nonprofit helping families battling pediatric cancer.
Craft Beer Tour Executive Director of Events Cole “The Beer Guy” Erie says he’s proud to team up with the organization.
“The really cool thing about this event is that we’re in support of the Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. Foundation, which is shining a light of hope on families affected by pediatric cancer. And so, this event is to create awareness for the organization and also a portion of the proceeds do go back to support this.”

Nearly 50 breweries, cideries, and malt beverage makers will be at the event, with more than 200 products to sample. Erie says the beer tour started ten years ago to show what beer makers in Central Minnesota are doing.
“We want to give these breweries an opportunity to showcase their products. Both their staples, what they what they’re really good at making and also the new stuff. And we want to give the community a super fun and reoccurring event that brings our community together.”
Erie says part of the fun at a beer tour is trying new products.
“The market is always evolving. There’s always something new coming out, there’s always a brewery or a cidery, or a malt beverage company, really working to reinvent the wheel and come out with something that’s completely unique, completely new and a flavor profile, and, you know, added sampling event like this, that’s where you’re gonna find that stuff.”
Booths will either have something for you to sample or play a game and win a prize.
“I mean, there’s tons of prizes to win at the at the event. You can win beer for a year.”
The Craft Beer Tour will be held on January 15th at the River’s Edge Convention Center from 2-5 p.m. for VIP tickets and 3-5 p.m. for general admission. Attendees will be able to vote for the people choice awards for the best beer, best brewery and best cidery.
