(KNSI) — The Sartell St. Stephen School District says Sartell High School Principal Sascha Hansen resigned Monday.
The school board unanimously accepted the resignation at a previously scheduled workgroup meeting Monday night.
No reason was given for the resignation. When asked by KNSI, Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Ridlehoover said the “district does not typically comment regarding employee resignations since they are private/personal decisions.”
Hansen was in the middle of her second year as principal after joining the district in 2011 as a phy ed teacher. She also served as assistant principal.
Assistant principals Jason Menth and Amanda Holstrom and Activities Director Nick Peterson will be working with Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Ridlehoover, who will be officing out of the high school for the time being. A search for a new interim principal is already underway. A search for a permanent replacement will start later this winter.
Below is a copy of the email sent by Dr. Ridlehoover to families and shared with KNSI.
“SHS Families,
“This email is to inform you that Principal Sascha Hansen has resigned from her position and will be departing ISD 748. We will miss Sascha’s leadership at Sartell High School and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
“The District will begin a search for an interim SHS Principal immediately and will then conduct a formal search for a new SHS Principal in late winter. Until we have an interim principal in place, Superintendent Dr. Ridlehoover will be officing at Sartell High School and will work with Assistant Principals Jason Menth and Amanda Holstrom and Activities Director Nick Peterson to support our staff and students.
“We will follow up with communication once we have an interim principal in place. For now, please continue to support our students and staff during this transition.”
