(KNSI) – Officials remind people about ice safety after three snowmobilers got wet on a Central Minnesota lake. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says they were called around 5:45 on Wednesday evening to Pelican Lake after getting a report of snowmobiles going through the ice.

First responders found 58-year-old Julie Hale of Grand Meadow, 48-year-old Tracy Hale of Winona, and 21-year-old Cole Hale, of Riceville, Iowa, had fellen through the ice in about 4-6 feet of water. All three were able to get out of the water on their own. No injuries were reported.

The Sheriff’s Office placed thin ice signs near the area where the snowmobiles went in but would like to remind everyone to be cautious in channel areas of lakes with the recent snowfall.
