(KNSI) — St. Cloud-based Marco Technologies says it helped the Salvation Army get a little closer to the 2021 Red Kettle campaign goal.

Marco made a corporate donation of $10,000, and employees also chipped in with monetary gifts through officewide fundraising and spending their free time bell ringing.

A press release from Marco says helping out the Salvation Army is an annual tradition to “come together with coworkers to fill the red kettle and spread holiday cheer.” The press release says millions of people are still dealing with the fallout and economic impacts due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Salvation Army says it was having another challenging holiday season trying to meet the needs of people who are struggling to remain above the poverty line.

Four Salvation Army red kettles were also stolen over the course of a few weeks around St. Cloud.

The Salvation Army’s virtual red kettle is still accepting donations. To help, click here.
