(KNSI) – A 26-year-old St. Cloud woman accused of killing her baby has been indicted by a grand jury of murder in the first degree (premeditated) and murder in the second degree (intent) in Stearns County. A conviction on first-degree murder can carry a life sentence. Only a grand jury can bring first-degree murder charges.

On November 28th, St. Cloud police responded to a 911 call in the 2900 block of Maine Prairie Road for a missing three-month-old boy. Fardoussa Omar Abdillahi’s stated she had thrown the baby in a dumpster. Investigators found the child’s body, along with multiple knives and bloody bedding in a dumpster behind the woman’s apartment building.

Abdillahi remains in custody on $2,000,000 unconditional bail, or $1,000,000 with conditions.

The criminal case is suspended pending the results of a Rule 20 examination. A Rule 20 examination will determine Abdillahi’s competency to stand trial.
