(KNSI) – The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has released more information on the officer-involved shooting that injured a man in Willmar last week.
56-year-old August LaFeen of Willmar has been charged in Kandiyohi County with six felony counts of making terroristic threats.
On December 16th, police responded to a 9-1-1 call of an armed man in an apartment complex who was threatening to kill a probation officer. Officers located the man inside the building and at one point one of the officers fired his gun while another discharged his Taser. LaFeen sustained a minor gunshot injury to his hand. A replica gun was found on the premises. The officer who discharged his firearm has been placed on standard administrative leave.
Portions of the incident were captured on body-worn cameras. When the BCA investigation on the use of force is complete, the results will be turned over to the Kandiyohi County Attorney’s Office for review.
