(KNSI) — A 61-year-old man from Buffalo is dead after a crash on Highway 55 Monday afternoon.

According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol, an 18-year-old Buffalo man rear ended a Buick Lesabre that had stopped to make a left turn from Highway 55 into a parking lot near Highway 25 just before 3:30. The impact pushed the Buick into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by a Chevy Impala, driven by an 86-year-old from Maple Lake.

The 61-year-old driver of the Buick suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The 18-year-old, the driver of the Impala, and his 81-year-old passenger all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
