(KNSI) — A 14-year-old is in custody after allegedly creating a threatening social media post.

Classes at Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle and High School were canceled Monday after the post was discovered.

KNSI obtained screenshots of the threats, which suggested there would be a shooting Monday morning of eight students and four teachers. The screenshots had not been independently verified. However, Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools sent out an email Sunday morning to parents, which was also obtained by KNSI saying, “Early this morning, district administration was made aware of alleged threats related to the middle school and has been working with the Sauk Rapids Police Department regarding this matter.”

“As this is an ongoing investigation and at the direction of the Sauk Rapids Police Department, there is limited information that can be shared. The district will provide an update this afternoon.”

“If you have information regarding this incident please call the Sauk Rapids Police Department at 320-251-9451.”

There will be an increased police presence at the schools when classes resume.
