(KNSI) – The coldest weather of the season will blow into Central Minnesota on Monday. The National Weather Service says a wind advisory on Sunday will end at 7 a.m., and behind it, temperatures of five degrees overnight with a high of eight in the St. Cloud area. This follows 3.7 inches of snow that fell on Saturday night.
Wind chill values of -20 are possible Monday with an overnight low air temperature of -1. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety urges drivers to be cautious Monday morning. Weekend rain and snow will likely freeze to roads and bridge decks.
The Minnesota State Patrol says from 5 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. on Saturday, there were 261 crashes reported resulting in 26 injuries. There were no fatal crashes reported. The crashes included 115 spin-outs and four jackknifed semis.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for a high of 20.
