(KNSI) – A St. Cloud car dealership is serving a free traditional Thanksgiving meal to help launch its ‘Share the Love’ campaign. Subaru is in its 13th year of raising money for several national organizations by making a donation from the sale of every vehicle between November 18th and January 3rd.

St. Cloud Subaru General Manager Bobby Konnight says they’ve teamed up with the Place of Hope in St. Cloud to offer a free pickup dinner from 11:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursday.

“There’s going be more than enough food. So, if you’re hungry and you want a good cooked meal for Thanksgiving we want it for you too. So, get down to a Place of Hope on Ninth Avenue and grab a couple to go orders for you and your family.”

He says they decided to team up with a Place of Hope to help feed the 17 families staying at a homeless shelter near the dealership, many with kids.

“If you come into work early, you see about 10 kids out there getting ready to get on the school bus. And just to think of what kind of situation they’re in. And this was away that we could help.”

He says, along with the families, there’s plenty of food for others this holiday season. Right now, $300 from every car bought at the dealership will support a Place of Hope and its mission. Konnight says he hopes to raise $60,000 and sell at least 200 cars during the dealership’s Share the Love event.
