The Adopt-A-Highway Program started in Stearns County in 1990. The groups involved in the program get their name put on an informational sign to let everyone know who’s maintaining the road ditch in that area. Groups are generally responsible for picking up a two-mile stretch of road.

In a Tweet, Stearns County Commissioners and the highway department thanked all the Adopt-A-Highway volunteers.
