(KNSI) – A St. Cloud-based healthcare system has more than 100 people being treated for COVID-19 for the second week in a row.
CentraCare and Carris Health facilities report 106 hospitalizations in their eight hospitals this week. That’s one more than last week and ten more than two weeks ago. Three weeks ago the system reported 89 patients systemwide.
CentraCare says 82 of the patients were unvaccinated and 24 of them were fully vaccinated. CentraCare considers a person vaccinated two weeks after they complete a vaccine series.
Doctors say getting the COVID-19 vaccine is the best protection against severe complications from the virus.
The latest report shows 520 cases in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright County on Friday. No new deaths were reported because death totals weren’t processed from Veterans Day. Statewide there were another 5,266 reported cases.
