(KNSI) — The GREAT Theater is kicking off its 25th season in 2022 with a special performance of Grease.
According to a press release from GREAT, an audience survey revealed Grease was the number one show theatergoers wanted to see for the 2022 season. But it won’t be in your traditional theater setting. This performance will be staged July 21, 22, and 23rd outdoors at the Ledge Amphitheater in Waite Park.
According to GREAT Program Director Allyson Reichert, “We look forward to bringing audiences to relive this nostalgic rock musical in a way they’ve never experienced before. Experiencing theatre outdoors, on a summer evening, under the stars is a magic in and of itself. Grease could not be a better show for this venue and its massive stage. We have so many creative ideas that are sure to wow audiences.”
The last performance of Grease, staged by GREAT, had a record-breaking sellout run at the Paramount in 2016.
Tickets go on sale on December 1st for season ticket holders. General public access begins on December 15th. To celebrate GREAT’s 25th season, all tickets for Grease are $25 for the first 25 days only and are only sold through Ticketmaster, as they are the official ticketing site for The Ledge.
The upcoming 2022/2023 Broadway series for GREAT will be announced in February.
