(KNSI) — The former bookkeeper at St. Cloud Tech High School has been sentenced to almost a year in jail after admitting she stole more than $100,000 from student activity accounts.

Court records show that in July of 2019, 46-year-old Allison Tadych resigned as bookkeeper and, in November of 2019, was charged with stealing $119,000 from the accounts after discrepancies were discovered over the previous two years.

An independent audit showed missing deposits of $75,000 from 2018 and $43,000 in 2019. District officials turned the evidence over to the St. Cloud Police Department.

Tadych told police she would fudge the numbers in the accounting software and then take about $200 for herself every week. She told investigators she intended to pay it back but quit when she knew that wouldn’t be possible.

Tadych pleaded guilty to one count of theft by swindle and received 310 days in jail, five years of probation, and was ordered to pay $21,000 restitution to the district and $116,000 to the district’s insurance company.
