(KNSI) — Police have arrested the man they believe caused a crash at County Road 75 and 33rd Street South in September and fled the scene.
On September 29th, crews responded to the crash involving two SUVs and a box truck. The driver accused of running a red light, 29-year-old Luke Michael Graditi, allegedly fled the crash scene, leaving behind two seriously injured passengers.
The criminal complaint says the box truck driver and the driver of a Buick Enclave were both making left turns onto County Road 75, and both had a green light when a maroon SUV was seen running a red light, crashing into the truck and the Buick. The impact of the crash sent the other SUV, a GMC Yukon, into the tree line northeast of the intersection with two people still inside. One had a dislocated hip; the other had multiple broken bones.
According to the criminal complaint, one of the people inside the Yukon told investigators Graditi made comments about having active warrants out for his arrest. Police confirmed warrants out of Anoka, Hennepin, Sherburne, and Stearns Counties for driving after revocation, fleeing police, possessing a hypodermic needle, domestic assault, and financial transaction card fraud.
New charges stemming from the September 29th crash include two counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in great bodily harm and leaving the scene of a crash.
Court records show Graditi was taken into custody on October 30th.
