(KNSI) – The CentraCare Foundation has decided its annual Holly Ball fundraiser will be a virtual-only event. CentraCare President and CEO Doctor Ken Holmen announced the decision on Thursday.
“We’ve been having a lot of conversation about the impact of COVID. And really how it’s important for us to keep you, our community, our staff and our patients safe. So after careful thought, we decided not to have an in person Holly Ball this year.”
Dr. Holmen says CentraCare continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation locally and is aware of the impact the virus is having on our community members and employees.
“COVID numbers are still remarkably high. The positivity rates are high. And our hospitals throughout the state are full of patients who suffer from COVID and the consequences of COVID.”
This year’s theme is Holly Ball: A Celebration of Music. Holly Ball will be an all-virtual event on Saturday, December 4th.
Holly Ball raises money to support CentraCare Hospice, the Coborn Cancer Center and the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center’s Greatest Needs Funds. Money raised at Holly Ball supplements additional programs and services not covered by insurance, including art therapy, home-delivered meals for CentraCare Hospice patients, yoga classes for cancer patients at the Coborn Healing Center and comprehensive medical examinations at the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center.
CentraCare Foundation’s Holly Ball has raised more than $11 million over the past 46 years. For more information about Holly Ball 2021, click here.
