UPDATE: 12:30 p.m. (KNSI) – The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Ellen Elizabeth Follestad from Glencoe died from injuries suffered in Tuesday night’s crash.
(KNSI) — Two students were hurt when the school bus they were riding on was t-boned by a car Tuesday night.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the bus was going north on Carver County Road 31 and turning to go west on Highway 212 at about 7:50 p.m. when it was hit by a Cadillac CTS driven by a 21-year-old woman from Glencoe.
The bus was carrying members of the Hutchinson High School cross country team at the time of the crash. One student reportedly had a gash on their forehead. Another complained of a headache. The 78-year-old bus driver also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the CTS, Ellen Elizabeth Follestad, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.
