(KNSI) – A man has been charged with murder after allegedly killing a woman from Nisswa in Crow Wing County.

According to the sheriff’s office, 29-year-old Cameron Jay Moser has been charged with 2nd-degree murder for the death of 46-year-old Bethany Anne Bernatsky. Deputies say they were called to a cabin at 23684 County Road 4 in Lake Edward Township around 11 p.m. on Thursday. The caller reported hearing several gunshots.

Officers responded and found the Brainerd man armed with a rifle and a handgun. Deputies negotiated for nearly two hours and eventually convinced Moser to put his weapons down in a safe location, and he was arrested.

While searching the property, police found the woman deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Moser remains in custody at the Crow Wing County Jail.
