(KNSI) – A young child died after getting run over by a trailer near Buffalo. The accident was reported around 3:15 on Saturday afternoon near the 1800-block of 50th Street Northeast in Buffalo Township.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says the 27-year-old father pulled out of his driveway onto 50th street in his pickup truck while towing an enclosed utility trailer. The sheriff’s office says the four-year-old was on the trailer’s tongue as he drove away from home. Investigators say the father went east for about three-tenths of a mile, where it appeared the child fell off the trailer’s tongue and was run over by the trailer.
The girl was rushed to the Buffalo hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Buffalo Police Officers and the Minnesota State Patrol. The incident remains under investigation.
