(KNSI) — St. Cloud-based Coborn’s Incorporated recently received two awards from the National Grocers Association.

Coborns earned two distinguished awards at the NGA’s annual Creative Choice Awards last month in Las Vegas. The awards were sponsored by Kellogg’s and Unilever.

According to a press release from Coborn’s, the company “showcased their best marketing and merchandising programs of 2020.”

Coborn’s won for Community Engagement Large Operator for its Round-Up program. The program asked customers to round up the amount of their grocery order to the next dollar amount. The money was distributed to local food shelves. They also received an honorable mention in the larger operator division for Center Store/Frozen/General Merchandise/Health and Beauty Care for the Candy Carnival it created for National Candy Month. Coborn’s was also named the Unilever Excellence in Agility winner for its COVID customer efforts. The store was one of the first to set aside separate shopping hours for older or more at-risk customers at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coborn’s Vice President of Marketing, Dennis Host, said that he commends “our marketing team for the remarkable work they put forth in creating engaging and meaningful promotions. I am proud of the great work they produce to support our stores and our guests.”
