Police Searching for Fleeing Suspect In Sauk Rapids

(KNSI) – Police and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a wanted man in Sauk Rapids.

Around 3:15 p.m. on Friday, law enforcement set up a perimeter around Garden Brook Drive Northeast and Strawberry Court Northeast in Sauk Rapids for a suspect wanted for theft and fleeing law enforcement. The suspect was last seen in the swampy area near the intersection.

The suspect is a 37-year-old white man, approximately 6’0″ tall, weighing about 300 pounds, with short black hair and a short black beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a light grey sweatshirt that says champion on the front, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

Residents in the area are asked to keep an eye out for the suspect and call 911 immediately. This is an active and ongoing law enforcement situation. Please avoid traveling through the area unnecessarily.
