(KNSI) – Enjoy an afternoon of beer and cider at Hops & History: A Celebration of Brewing at the Stearns History Museum. Stearns History Museum Program Curator Caitlin Carlson says a local cidery and four area breweries are participating in the event.
“It’s an Oktoberfest kind of event, but smaller, featuring local breweries with a focus on their history, and also just their brand identity. The actual brewers will be on site, able to talk to the guests.”
She says Stearns County has a long history with alcohol.
“Stearns County was kind of a hot area for the making of moonshine. We do have a lot of cool artifacts from the time a lot of stills and jugs and crates and things. I know Holdingford was a big area for creating moonshine, but it was just this whole county was pretty productive. If you know what I mean.”
The new Oktoberfest event allows folks to taste test beverages from Bad Habit Brewing Company, Beaver Island Brewing Company, Milk & Honey Ciders, Pantown Brewing Company, and Third Street Brewhouse. The event is on October 2nd from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Stearns History Museum. The cost is $25 and includes a commemorative glass.
For tickets and more information, check out the Stearns History Museum website, StearnsHistoryMuseum.org, or call (320) 253-8424. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event. This is a 21 and older event.
