(KNSI) – A scheduled court appearance for a man accused of a deadly shooting spree inside a clinic in Buffalo was canceled.

No reason was given as to why Tuesday’s hearing for 68-year-old Gregory Ulrich was postponed. Last month, a judge ruled that Ulrich was competent to stand trial.

Investigators say Ulrich shot five employees at the Allina clinic in Buffalo in February. One person died, 37-year-old Lindsay Overbay died. The mother of two from Maple Lake went to school at St. Cloud State University.

Ulrich is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and setting off explosive devices. According to a criminal complaint, Ulrich walked into the Allina Clinic Crossroads and started shooting and setting off homemade bombs. Ulrich faces up to 40 years in prison for the murder charge alone.

Buffalo Police Chief Pat Budke and Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer say they had numerous contacts with Ulrich dating back to 2003. They say the attack was targeted at this clinic because Ulrich was reportedly unhappy with the medical care there.
