(KNSI) – Minnesota could see more than 300 Afghan refugees placed in the state in the coming weeks. The state Department of Human Services said those are the numbers they have been advised of by the federal government, which includes those with special visas and general evacuees. Five local resettlement programs will either reunite refugees with family in the area or find communities with the capacity to provide support. Those interested in helping can sign up for email notifications through the DHS website.
