(KNSI) – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has released a few more details surrounding the disappearance of a mother, father, and four children over the weekend.

Officials released an attempt to locate for Erika Herrington, Robert Herrington, and their children, Landon and Carter, 8, Briella, 3, and Delilah, 2, on September 4th. Since then, they say they have received several tips and other information, but the Herringtons are still missing. There is a domestic abuse no contact order out against Robert barring him from contacting Erika for previous history of domestic abuse. Due to that history, they add that the environment is unsafe for the children.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says it is working with its area law enforcement partners to process the tips that come in. While there is concern for Erika and their four kids, there is not enough information to prompt an Amber Alert. According to the Department of Justice recommended, the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert is:

  • There is a reasonable belief by law enforcement that an abduction has occurred.
  • The law enforcement agency believes that the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.
  • There is enough descriptive information about the victim and the abduction for law enforcement to issue an AMBER Alert to assist in the child’s recovery.
  • The abduction is of a child aged 17 years or younger.
  • The child’s name and other critical data elements have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system, including the Child Abduction flag.

Robert Herrington was arrested on August 8th for violating the no contact order as he was found in a St. Augusta storage unit with their kids. According to court documents, he was released on August 23rd.

The family is believed to be traveling in a 2015 Hyundai Sonata that’s white with a black top bearing the Minnesota license plate BWD 364. Herrington is described as white, 6’1″, 235 pounds. If you see the Herringtons, their vehicle, or have information on their whereabouts, please call the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office at 320-251-4240 or 911.
