(KNSI) – Just days into the new school year, Catholic Community Schools says at least one building in their system has identified “several positive cases” of COVID-19.
Officials with St. Katharine Drexel sent out an email to parents on Saturday saying all families with children identified as close contacts have been notified. Students started class on August 30th.
Kids who wear properly fitted masks that cover the nose and mouth are not required to quarantine in close contact situations. The school urges universal indoor face covering for all people in the PK-12 school settings, regardless of vaccination status. As of September 1st, which is when the last data was available at the time of this writing, 56.3% of the total Minnesota population has gotten both vaccine doses. Breakthrough cases of COVID-19 in fully vaccinated people make up less than one half of one percent of all cases in the last week.
