(KNSI) – In its Wednesday report, the Minnesota Department of Health confirms 1,436 new COVID-19 cases across the state and six deaths.

In the five-county St. Cloud area, there are 150 new cases: 12 in Benton, four in Morrison, 42 in Sherburne, 36 in Stearns and 56 in Wright.

The state processed more than 29,000 COVID tests Tuesday for a one-day positivity rate of 4.9, a slight drop compared to this weekend’s numbers.

COVID hospitalizations have now exceeded 600, with 614 COVID patients currently receiving care in Minnesota’s hospitals. One hundred and seventy-one of those patients are in the ICU.

Meanwhile, vaccinations continue to rise. As of August 30th, 3,317,475 Minnesotans have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine. That’s 70.6 percent of the state’s 12+ population. During the month of August, the state doled out 41.5 percent more vaccine doses than it did in July.
