(KNSI) – A man has drowned in Leech Lake.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says they were called for a man struggling to swim near Sand Point in rural Walker around 1 p.m. on Thursday. A pontoon boat went out to get the man but reported the man went underwater before they could get to him.
Deputies arrived and found the pontoon near the area where the man was last seen. Around 2:15 p.m., the body of a 65-year-old man from Oak Grove was found.
His name is being withheld until the family is notified. An autopsy is pending with the Ramsy County Medical Examiner’s Office.
