(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Community OutPost is holding its first End of Summer Block Party. The free block party is from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Haws Park, 819 13th Steet South, St. Cloud.

Supervisor of the Community Response Team Sargent Ryan Sayre says the Community OutPost, also called the COP House, is planning many family events, but the main event is a movie in the park.

“We’ve got a big screen that’s coming in and we’re going to show the movie Zootopia. We have some bounce houses for the kids. And then the big thing, the Vikings Table RV Food Truck is coming.”

The COP House decided to hold the event after the United Way of Central Minnesota contacted them with the idea of hosting the ‘Vikings Table.’ The food truck makes healthy meals to disproportionately impacted communities and is sponsored by the Vikings Foundation.

“That’s kind of what started the big end of summer block party was them decided that they wanted to come down and they’re given our 200 meals to whoever shows at the park. I think they chose us because of all those good things we’ve been having down there (COP House) and decided that this would be a good opportunity a good spot to to have this event.”

Kids can also get free school supplies at the event. All the events at the End of Year Block Party are free. For more information on the COP House, click here.
