(KNSI) – After five days of searching, police believe the body of a woman, missing since August 5th, has been found.
A press release from the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office says investigators were executing a search warrant Tuesday evening at a home in Athens Township when they found the body of an adult female lying near a road in a rural part of the county. Based on evidence found at the scene, investigators believe the body is that of 32-year-old Amanda Jo Vangrinsven. She was found around midnight. The Medical Examiner will make the formal identification.
Vangrinsven was last seen on August 5th at about 11:00 p.m., leaving the Dugout Bar in Bethel. Police believe Vangrinsven left work at the Isanti VFW with someone and went to the Dugout Bar and then was dropped back off at the VFW that night. Vangrinsven was reported missing on August 6th after she didn’t show up for work. Her vehicle was still parked outside the VFW on Friday.
Police say no one is in custody, but there is no ongoing threat to the public.
