(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has named its new executive director.
CVB sales manager Rachel Thompson will fill the role being vacated by Julie Lunning, who will become the new president of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce next month.
The bureau says Thompson has worked there for six years and has coordinated with local hospitality businesses in bringing conferences and meetings to the area.
“As board chair of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, I would like to thank Julie Lunning for the tremendous job she has done leading the CVB.” said board chair John Libert. “I would also like to congratulate her on her new leadership role with the Chamber of Commerce. We selected Rachel to be the next executive director, and we are confident that Rachel and her very talented staff will continue the traditions of the well managed organization.”
Thompson starts her new role on September 1st.
