(KNSI) – A memorial service for Mack Motzko will be held at St. Cloud Cathedral High School on Monday.
The Celebration of Life is at 1 p.m. on August 2nd in the Cathedral North Gym.
The Motzko family askes those attending to wear a “Sunday red” golf shirt and golf attire in honor of Mack’s love of golf and Tiger Woods.
The Celebration of Life service will be live-streamed.
The class of 2020 is setting up a memorial in Mack’s memory.
Students and families are collecting funds for a tree and memorial stone to be planted on the Cathedral campus this fall in memory of Mack.
Any funds generated beyond the cost of the tree and stone memorial will be used to award a scholarship to a current senior, from the Class of 2020, in memory of Mack.

A statement from Catholic Community Schools says:
“The Cathedral, and in extension CCS community is shocked and heartbroken by Mack Motzko’s passing. We will cherish all the memories that we have of Mack.
Whether on the ice, in the classroom, or on the greens, he demonstrated his strong faith and a huge heart. He was a loving teammate, friend, brother, son, student, and individual.
Our hearts and prayers are with the Motzko family. We continue to pray for them during this time of loss.”
Mack was killed in a car accident last Saturday in Orono.
He is the son of former St. Cloud State University Hockey Coach and current Gophers coach Bob Motzko.
Motzko coached for 13 years at SCSU before taking the Gophers job in 2018.
