(KNSI) – A man suspected of being responsible for multiple shootings in St. Cloud has been arrested.

The first shooting took place around 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon in the alley to the east of Go For It Gas in the 1000 Block of 9th Avenue South.

The second shooting was reported just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday near 8th Avenue South and 9th Street South.

Neither shooting resulted in any injuries or property damage reports. Responding officers set up perimeters and attempted K9 tracks but didn’t find a suspect.

According to police, both shootings may have been directed at a vehicle that was leaving the area.

Investigators say a description of a suspect made authorities believe the same person was responsible for both shootings.

On Thursday, around 3 p.m., police arrested an 18-year-old from West St. Paul in a parking lot in the 1000-block of 9th Avenue South. Police say the man had a stolen gun.

The suspect is being held in the Stearns County jail on suspicion of 2nd-degree assault, a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen handgun, and two gross misdemeanor counts of reckless discharge of a gun.

KNSI News doesn’t identify suspects until they’re formally charged.
