(KNSI) – Caribou Coffee has opened a new location in the St. Cloud area and plans a big grand opening weekend.
The new store is on the corner of Highway 23 and Lincoln Avenue in East St. Cloud.
The store held a soft opening on Tuesday.
Caribou District Manager Joe Kraft says the grand opening is at 9 a.m. on Friday.
“We’ll have the mayor out here along with a bunch of other Caribou people and we’ll have Cari Bou, our mascot, out here to cut the ribbon.”
Kraft says this is the first Caribou Coffee in East St. Cloud.
“The east side of town is getting revitalized. So, we thought now’s the time to come into this side of town. So, this is our fifth location in St. Cloud and it was a nice time to bring Caribou to the new resurgence on this side of St. Cloud.”
The new location will celebrate its grand opening weekend and donate $1 for every large drink sold to the local woman’s shelter, Anna Marie’s Alliance.
The Caribou store is built where the old Gateway Motel was built in 1965.
In 2020, the motel was demolished to make room for the three-tenant commercial building, including Caribou Coffee.
