(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources implemented new fire restrictions for Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Under the order, all fires are prohibited, even those set in designated fire rings.
Visitors can still use a gas or propane stove for cooking.
DNR officials say wildfire risks are far too great to allow any campfires at this time.
