(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is charged with two felony counts of domestic assault and one felony count of domestic assault by strangulation after two different incidents in the last month.

Police say they responded to a harassment call at a Waite Park apartment complex about 1:15 a.m. on June 22nd. According to the criminal complaint, the woman told police she believed 30-year-old Collin Roberts would assault her.

A second criminal complaint said that police responded to a domestic assault call at a home about 8:30 p.m. in St. Cloud on July 12th. The woman said Roberts strangled, punched, and bit her, kneed her in the ribs, and fled the scene. She said when he had his hands around her neck, she struggled to breathe.

Roberts already had a warrant out for his arrest for allegedly assaulting the woman in April, and a search of court records shows previous convictions for domestic assault in 2011 and 2015. A charge of domestic assault in Benton County in 2017 was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Bail for Roberts has been set at $200,000. He is due back in court on August 16th.
