(KNSI) – A former Albany teacher and coach has admitted to sexually assaulting a teenage student.
Daniel Sinclair Fragodt pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct 16-17-years old-Act greater than 48 months older-position of authority.
He pleads on Monday just before he was to stand trial in Stearns County District Court.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 21st.
The 32-year-old from St. Joseph, formally Melrose, admitted having a sexual relationship with a student when she was 17.
He was also accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old student.
According to the criminal complaint, police in Albany started investigating Fragodt in March of 2020. A 14-year-old girl told police he touched her buttocks over her clothing and on her bare leg.
The teen also told police Fradogt was having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old.
Prosecutors Fragodt started a relationship with the older girl in September of 2017.
The teen admitted that two had sexual contact at the school, a park, and a ride in St. Joseph and other areas around Albany.
Fragdot taught math and coached girls’ basketball, track and field, and cross country.
He resigned shortly after being charged.
