(KNSI) – The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force has arrested one person and intends to charge two people after authorities found suspected cocaine during a search of a Waite Park home Friday.
A press release from the task force states that it received information several months ago on a 31-year-old Waite Park man who was allegedly distributing cocaine in the region. Undercover investigators purchased suspected cocaine from that man and also learned that he was allegedly storing the drug in his home.
On Friday, the task force executed a search warrant at that home, and authorities say they found 160.9 grams of cocaine, scales and “other items believed to be associated with the distribution of controlled substances.” The 31-year-old man, a 27-year-old Waite Park woman and a toddler were in the home at the time of the search.
The task force arrested the man. He is now in the Stearns County Jail awaiting formal charges of first-degree possession of controlled substances and second-degree sale of controlled substances. The woman was not taken to jail, but authorities say she will have “long form charges for 2nd degree sale of controlled substances.” The task force reports that the toddler was placed into the care of another relative.
